Powering 19,000 South African homes each year

The Droogfontein Solar Park generates electricity using 168,720 solar (PV) panels and feeds the Eskom grid. Arising from the South African Government’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP), Droogfontein Solar Park has a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement with Eskom.

The solar park supplies enough clean, renewable electrical energy to power more than 19,000 South African homes each year.

Through enterprise development, the creation of procurement and employment opportunities and the development of a local community trust, the solar park has invested in the communities in its vicinity.

The Solar Park is owned by a consortium including Globeleq, Thebe Investment Corp., Enzani Technologies, Usizo Engineering and Droogfontein Communal Property Association.
