Situated in the Northern Cape, 60 km north of Loeriesfontein, Khobab Wind Farm was chosen for its excellent wind resource, proximity to national roads for transportation, access to the grid and local stakeholder and municipality support.
When operating at full capacity the Khobab Wind Farm will power up to 170,000 South African homes each year and eliminate approximately 550,000 tonnes of CO2 when compared to fossil fuel power plants.
During the operations phase of Khobab Wind Farm, a monetary commitment has been made to specifically developing enterprises and improving the socio-economic welfare of the community for the lifetime of the wind farm.
