Julie joined Mainstream in 2024 as CFO, transitioning into the CEO role in January 2026, and has led the strategic transformation of the company, including the move of HQ from Dublin to Oslo in 2025.

Prior to joining the company, Julie held the position of CFO in Aker Carbon Capture (today SLB Capturi) and before that as Partner in KPMG.

Julie brings over 27 years of deep industry experience within the Energy sector. She is a distinguished leader with significant international experience and a strong ambassador for equality and diversity in the workplace.

Frode was appointed General Counsel at Mainstream in May 2025 and is responsible for the legal and compliance functions across the Group.

He has more than 20 years’ experience and joined Mainstream from the position of General Counsel at Aker Horizons ASA, a company listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

Frode started his career in private practice in law firms Bahr and DLA Piper and has since held management positions in several companies within the energy sector.

Frode graduated with a law degree from the University of Bergen in 1999.

Group Head of Finance

Daniel joined Mainstream in May 2025 as Head of Financial Reporting and was promoted to Group Head of Finance in December 2025.

Prior to joining Mainstream, Daniel worked at Aker Horizons, an investment company within the Aker Group focused on renewable energy and decarbonisation, supporting various renewable energy investments at group level. He has previously held roles at Telenor and Aker Solutions working with IFRS, Group accounting and Consolidation. Daniel began his professional career as an auditor at KPMG in 2010.

Daniel holds a Master’s degree in Accounting and Auditing from BI Norwegian Business School, completed in 2014 and gained his CPA qualification in 2015.

Hein assumed the position of General Manager in 2016. He has direct responsibility for projects in development, construction and operations including taking the lead on Mainstream’s Africa initiatives late in 2016.

Since Hein joined Mainstream, his roles have included project and business development through to construction. Having worked in renewable energy since 2008, Hein has vast knowledge and experience in the industry.

Hein trained as a mechanical engineer and built a successful career in delivering complex projects and new business initiatives leading multi-disciplinary teams of professionals. His experience covers rewarding enterprises in the automotive, rail, marine and energy industries. He has been one of the pioneers of the South African renewable energy industry and a board member of the South African Wind Energy Association (SAWEA) from 2014 to 2018.

Lindsay joined the Mainstream team in October 2018.  Her core function is supporting the ExCo and regional leadership teams, and all employees across the global business to ensure HR best practice, wellness and engagement. She also leads the Communication function for the Group, overseeing internal and external communication channels, media management, event sponsorships and industry memberships.

Previously, she consulted to Mainstream as a Recruitment Manager from 2012 to 2018. Lindsay has over 20 years’ experience in the recruitment and executive search consulting profession and developed core skills in interviewing, assessments, business consulting, research and project management.

She holds a Bachelor of Social Science, majoring in Psychology and HR, and a Diploma in Public Relations and Business Communication.

Matthew currently holds the position of Chief Financial Officer, South Africa, with responsibility for leading the Commercial and Finance departments. In this role, he oversees the financial strategy, planning, and reporting for the South African business, while also driving commercial execution across projects. His remit includes ensuring robust governance and compliance, managing capital allocation, supporting project financing and investment decisions, and aligning commercial outcomes with Mainstream’s broader strategic objectives.

He joined Mainstream in 2021 as Head of Commercial, Africa, where he led the commercial function to secure PPAs for wind and solar PV projects, covering tendering, structuring, negotiation, due diligence, and ultimately financial close.

Before joining Mainstream, Matthew worked at Eaglestone Capital Advisory, a project finance advisory boutique, where he advised power and infrastructure clients on corporate and project finance transactions across Africa. Prior to that, he was part of the infrastructure sector team at Macquarie Capital Johannesburg, specialising in financial modelling, transaction execution, and debt and equity procurement advisory.

Matthew is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, having completed his articles at KPMG Johannesburg in the financial services sector.

Birgitte was appointed Head of Legal and Compliance South Africa in 2025, transitioning from her role as General Counsel at Mainstream which she took up in October 2022.  She has responsibility for the legal and compliance functions in South Africa.

She joined Mainstream from the position of General Counsel at Aker Offshore Wind following the company’s combination with Mainstream in August 2022.

She has worked in private practice within the energy sector for most of her career and since 2013 as a partner in the law firm Wikborg Rein.

Birgitte graduated with a law degree from the University of Bergen in 2002.

Christiaan joined Mainstream Renewable Power in 2015 and has spent a decade growing with the business, progressing from energy analysis and yield assessment into group-level technical leadership, and ultimately into his current CTO role in South Africa. Over that time, he has worked across Mainstream’s South African, APAC, and European portfolios, spanning the full project lifecycle from early-stage development through to operational asset performance.

He brings deep experience across the renewable energy sector, with a track record of leading cross-functional technical teams across multiple regions. His work sits at the intersection of engineering rigor and commercial decision-making, translating complex technical data into strategy that drives project and investment outcomes.

Christiaan holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stellenbosch University, complemented by professional certifications in Operations Management, Finance, Contracts and Risk from UCT, and Project Management from AIM.

She has led and supported the advancement of projects across multiple markets, including South Africa and the Philippines, and contributed to business development initiatives across Africa. She has also gained international experience through time spent in Mainstream’s UK office, supporting the company’s former offshore wind ambitions.

Enelge brings extensive experience in renewable energy project development and management, with a strong track record of delivering complex projects in diverse markets.

She holds two Master of Science degrees from Stellenbosch University and the University of Cape Town.

Manuel Tagle stepped into the role as General Manager of Mainstream’s LatAm business in April of 2018.

He has extensive experience in the energy industry, particularly in renewables. Prior to joining Mainstream, Manuel was CEO of SunPower and Commercial Manager of Sociedad GNL Mejillones.

Manuel has a degree in civil industrial engineering and an MBA from the Universidad de Desarrollo, Chile. He is currently the Treasury Director of ACERA, the Chilean Association of Renewable Energy.

Previously, he worked at EnfraGen, LLC, where he led the acquisition, financing and integration of over 400 MW across multiple countries, while overseeing the operational and financial performance of EnfraGen’s 2.1 GW energy transition portfolio.

Roberto holds an Industrial Civil Engineering degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a Corporate Finance Diploma from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez.

Mariangel joined Mainstream in March 2022 to lead the Legal function, delivering key outcomes in the modernisation of contracts, the review of management and corporate structures, and the strengthening of transparency. She has also contributed to the development of more robust governance policies and improved the availability of information for shareholders, among other initiatives.

She brings extensive experience in the energy and mining sectors, having served as Regional Legal Manager for Latin America at Vestas, and previously as a lawyer at AES Andes and Freeport-McMoRan in Madrid. She was also recognised as part of the third generation of Women in Energy Chile 2021 by WEC Chile.

Mariangel holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and has completed studies in International Business at the University of London, UK.

Gabriel joined Mainstream in 2022 and leads development and battery energy storage (BESS) activities in Chile, overseeing the renewable energy project portfolio. He is responsible for the full project development lifecycle, from pre-feasibility through to the start of construction, as well as BESS projects across both development and operational phases.

He brings extensive experience from a range of executive roles within the energy sector, along with leadership positions in the Ministry of Energy and non-profit organisations focused on infrastructure projects across Latin America. With over two decades of experience, Gabriel has developed deep expertise in renewable energy, infrastructure, and sustainability.

Gabriel holds a Civil Engineering degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a Master of Public Administration in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University.
