Mainstream's African joint venture, Lekela Power is developing 570 MW of late stage development projects in Egypt.  The projects are supported by the local Lekela team.  The Gulf de Suez wind farm (250 MW) is at the final stages of development and has reached a number of key milestones including the signing of a power purchase agreement with the local transmission company in February 2019.

Mainstream and private equity firm, Actis established the pan-African renewable energy platform, Lekela Power in 2015.
