Overview
Tchamma is a 175 MW wind farm project located in Calama, Antofagasta Region. It has a transmission line of 37km long which will connect the wind farm to the Encuentro substation. The project is currently in construction and forms part of the Cóndor portfolio.
Construction work is underway to install 35 turbines and it has now progressed to the 30% mark since the pouring of its concrete bases began on May 30.
Mainstream Chile has been working in the community developing the Tchamma wind project since 2014. During this time it has been working closely with the Indigenous Community “Indios Atacameños del sector de Chunchuri” in Calama, developing various activities.
