Overview
The Cuel wind farm is located 560kms south of Santiago, close to Los Ángeles city in the Bío Bío region of Chile. Mainstream fully developed the project in association with local authorities, municipalities and the community. Construction of all 22 turbines was completed Q1, 2014 and, in February 2014, the project started to generate power and sold on the spot market - a first in the industry. Subsequently, Cuel was sold into the Aela Energía platform, the joint venture company between Mainstream and Actis.
