Summary of Role:

Mainstream Renewable Power is looking for PMO Cost Construction Estimator for Latam area for analyse, estimate and support in:

  • Business Development Team, for value engineering
  • Construction deviations, Contractor claims and others for help Cost Construction activities

What you will do? 

  • Throughout the course of a project, work with project teams to ensure documentation, supporting materials, and project cost plans are updated and available for internal teams and senior leaders.
  • Work with Business Development Team for value engineering.
  • Stage 0 to 1 (Pre-development): Provide order of magnitude cost & schedule estimations (top-down methodologies) for NCRE projects, substations & transmission lines, in order to provide information to calculate economical feasibility of the NCRE projects.
  • Stage 2 to 5 (Development): Provide cost estimations to populate bill of quantities prepared by the engineering team, in order to bring information for project optimizations & economic valuation alternatives for NCRE projects, substations & transmission lines.
  • Work with CM, CML and PMs team to obtain the background of each Construction project for the required cost
  • Prepare Claims cost estimation and help in deviations for each project construction, prioritize tasks and sets deadlines. Afterward, ensure that costs system are being updated on a regular basis.
  • Assist to CM, CML in creating and maintaining project costs databases.
  • Coordinate and prepare Capex /Opex for Financial Close milestone.
  • Review cost status of main contracts for each project.
  • Contribute to develop Cost report template (main KPIs) and other relevant reports in Power BI to improve project reporting.
  • Support monthly project reports, ensuring that cost information is updated by the project owners.
  • Review main project deviations in Construction phase
  • Support PMO Construction Manager in project reviews and asset reviews organization and reporting.
  • Interaction with relevant in-house teams
  • Ensuring appropriate document control in PMO

What we require?

  • As preference, but not restringed, Civil Engineer (any discipline) with over 10 years of experience in cost construction estimate.
  • Ability to work with few information in order to generate cost scenarios for represent MRP position against Contractors.
  • Ability to construct full life cycle costs for wind farm and solar projects in Construction phase.
  • Excellent IT skills, including experience with MS Office and a data management system such as SharePoint Online, Power BI and others.
  • Attention to detail and a broader strategic view essential.
  • An efficient and organised approach to working, task prioritisation and time management.
  • Proven capability to meet deadlines and deliver to timelines. Management abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong initiative and the ability to proactively identify required tasks
  • Ability to maintain sight of the ‘big picture’ and overarching objectives at all times
  • An organised approach to working, task prioritisation and time management
