Summary of Role :

As the Engineering and Construction Manager, you will oversee the engineering and construction process for a group of wind and solar projects located at diversity of places in the country. The successful candidate will be responsible for the proper design of our projects and for verifying the construction is performed according the employer requirements.

What you will do?

  • Lead and supervise the engineering team responsible for performing all the designs and studies required to ensure our project portfolio bankability.
  • Lead and supervise the construction site team responsible for the contractors performing the construction according the employer requirements.
  • Manage the review of the engineering process performed by EPC Contractors.
  • Actively driving for zero HSE incidents during the construction of projects.
  • Ensure the projects construction is in accordance to Health and Safety and Environment regulation and permits.
  • Issuing project progress reports as requested by either lenders or internal management team.
  • Liaise and cooperate with other functional and regional teams.
  • Liaise and cooperate with external parties – banks, independent engineers, contractors, government bodies etc.
  • Ability to work with electrical grid utilities to develop transmission grid connection plans.
  • Strong reporting and approval process using Mainstream’s procedures and process based on PMI® PMBOK®.
  • Supporting Development and Construction Projects Management team on engineering and construction related matters.
  • Participate in company groups focused on sharing of expertise globally.
  • Assist the Technical Director in the development of the regional strategy.
  • Market awareness of solar & wind farm construction activity, regulatory issues and other renewable technologies.

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Engineering (electrical or civil) with a minimum of 15 years of experience.
  • A broad range of management experience and a proven record in projects engineering and construction is essential.
  • Engineering and construction management experience in the renewable or electrical industry would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the Chilean regulation related to construction permits process.
  • Knowledge of the Chilean regulation on Health and Safety and Environmental matters.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience on presenting to senior management at board level and be capable of managing internal and external resources with ease.
