Summary of Role:

As the Commissioning Manager, you will oversee the Technical Expert for all Start - Up testing, commissioning activities and process on power and cogeneration projects for a group of wind and solar projects located at diversity of places in the country. The company portfolio includes approximately 1,000 MW that will start operations between 2021 and 2022.

The role manages Start -Up personnel staffing, EHS requirements for safe to ensure the Start - Up is performed in professional, efficient, and always with the schedule in mind.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company portfolio meeting all key policy, protocols, methodologies, test by component, by loop and complete set, forms by the different phases / stages of testing and commissioning activities.

What you will do?

  • Ensure highest level of health and safety standard is maintained at the wind farm.
  • Coordinate with product line, engineering and supplier engineering to develop test plans to support the sequence of commissioning for wind farm project in accordance with the overall targets (Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery) as defined for the Project and in line with the technical specification of the Contract.
  • Responsible for delivering the technical content of contracts for the execution of Wind Turbine commissioning.
  • Define activities and responsibilities for site commissioning personnel - share specialist knowledge and information, assist monitoring and trouble shooting and facilitate resource management.
  • Coordinate with product line, engineering and supplier engineering to develop test plans to support the sequence of commissioning for wind farm project in accordance with the overall targets (Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery) as defined for the Project and in line with the technical specification of the Contract.
  • Responsible for delivering the technical content of contracts for the execution of Wind Turbine commissioning.
  • Define activities and responsibilities for site commissioning personnel - share specialist knowledge and information, assist monitoring and trouble shooting and facilitate resource management.
  • Work closely with other Mainstream teams to support development, construction, energy analysis, power purchase agreements etc.
  • From time to time assist with planning issues, construction, and operations on other Mainstream sites.
  • Ensure the execution of activities according to the SHEQ standards adopted by Mainstream and/or our clients, and in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, permits and agreements.
  • Prepare Weekly and Monthly report.
  • Ensure highest level of health and safety standard is maintained at the wind farm.
  • Act on behalf of the company before the authorities (CEN, SEC, SMA and others).
  • Manage the handover process for new projects, from Construction to Operations.
  • Coordinate with the Construction and O&M Team (Mainstream and Contractors) to ensure the assets are being properly test according to the company requirements.
  • Work closely with other Mainstream teams to support development, construction, energy analysis, power purchase agreements etc.
  • From time to time assist with planning issues, construction and operations on other Mainstream sites.

  • Experience with ISO standards.
  • Strong understanding of Wind Turbine commissioning and trouble shooting.
  • Knowledgeable in Wind Turbine commissioning processes.

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Engineering (electrical or mechanicals) with a minimum of 15 years of experience.
  • A broad range of management experience and a proven record in commissioning power plants is essential.
  • Minimum experience working within the commissioning power plants energy of 10 years.
  • Knowledge of the Chilean regulation related to operating electrical generation assets.
  • Knowledge of the Chilean regulation on Health and Safety and Environmental matters.
  • Experience on presenting to senior management at board level and be capable of managing internal and external resources with ease.
