Wind skills, turbine procurement and site design
- In-house Energy Analysis team with extensive experience of raw wind data from sites across Europe, China and the US.
- Selection of the best met masts for sites which ensure the optimal output information and minimises uncertainty around output figures.
- Linked closely to Garrad Hassan and understand their methodology. Banks finance a project based on the Garrad Hassan report – we ensure there are no surprises.
- Extensive experience with turbine layout.
- Turbine selection expertise, ensuring the optimum turbine model by matching the wind profile with the turbine power curve.
- Have designed grid connection infrastructure for onshore & offshore wind farms ranging in size from 24MW to 500MW.
- A number of certified professional electrical engineers on staff, possessing a wide variety of in-house grid expertise.
- Staff connected the first Irish wind farm into the transmission system.
- HVDC connection design.
- One of the world’s most experienced offshore teams.
- Developed nearly 2,000MW of offshore wind projects.
- Brought the 500MW Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm successfully through the development process where individual members of the team were responsible for project management, site selection, permitting, grid connection, commercial management and project financing. The project is currently in construction and will be the world’s largest offshore wind farm.
