Under the terms of the agreement, Chicago based Goldwind USA, a subsidiary of Goldwind, will supply 47 GW87 1.5 MW wind turbines. This is the third collaboration between Mainstream and Goldwind, and their second deal in Chile. In December last year Mainstream purchased 23 of Goldwind’s GW87 1.5 MW wind turbines for the 34.5MW Negrete Cuel Wind Farm in central Chile.

The Ckani wind farm, which received environmental approval in December 2011, has a total potential capacity of 240MW and has been developed by Mainstream since 2009. It will be connected to the SING Electrical System and this first 70MW phase is expected to start construction by end of 2012. Mainstream plans to have all 240MW operational by 2015.

Key responsibilities is to support the Finance Manager and will include, but not be restricted to:

Perform the month end closing and reporting process

• Manage the monthly payment run including the creation of work purchase orders.
• Support the finance manager in the month end close for SMW and the SMW project companies
• Manage the month end reporting cycle including the development of the SMW management reporting pack and preparation of Board Slides.
• Prepare allocation of cost between SMW and project companies and handle the cost transfer including cash payments.
• Liaise with outsourced AP team and project managers to ensure supplier invoices are correctly coded and paid on time including dealing with queries from suppliers.

Forecasting and Budgeting

• Support the quarterly project forecasting process
• Support the annual project budgeting process
• Manage the overheads budget and forecast process
• Preparation of management information in relation to forecast and budget variances.

Other

• Assist in the annual statutory accounts preparation and submission
• Completion of quarterly tax return to HMRC
• Be the first port of call for SMW accounts payable and accounts receivable queries
• Manage the SMW banking system
• Assist the finance manager with external audit during the annual audit of SMW accounts.
• Support the implementation and manage the process of time recording

Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience

The Ideal candidate will be part qualified and have worked in a finance function for a medium to large sized organisation with experience in AP, AR, Tax with some exposure to management reporting and understanding of the requirements to report timely and accurate information for decision making.

The candidate will be a member of the Mainstream Chile development team and will be responsible for all areas of Solar energy project development, including leading initial site identification, lease negotiations, working with landowners, researching & managing environmental issues and all consenting processes, liaising with the regulatory authorities and securing all necessary permits.

Scope:

• To ensure that projects are identified, developed and designed/executed in line with Mainstream’s development goals, objectives and processes
• To work closely with the local and international teams to ensure that projects are developed and build-ready within agreed time frames
• Oversee the identification, development and consenting of the solar energy sites in Chile through all stages of development
• Working with landowners to secure land leases and securing metrological equipment sites
• Maintaining a project schedule and other project controls for solar projects under development
• Ensuring project communications plans are in place and updated as required
• Supporting the management of overall project dependencies by ensuring that time-lines, targets and budgets for project deliverables are set maintained
• Ensuring Health and Safety Policies are understood and followed on all projects
• Assisting Senior Development Manager to manage development, acquisition or partnership opportunities from identification through to board approval, deal completion and subsequent operational ownership within the Organisation

The Successful Candidate will:

• Have a Degree in Business, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical), Geographic Sciences or Energy studies
• Have experience in the solar/energy industry
• Have Experience of working on environmental assessments, commercial project development or any aspect of power generation project development
• Be fluent in both English and Spanish
